The autumn 2023 runways had been full of shoe tendencies that emphasised the general themes of the season: a return to dressing up and a revival of the stylish closet staple. From cheeky takes on ladylike appears to be like (Loewe’s humongous, floppy bow affixed to its velvet pumps) to a brand-new interpretation of the sock boot, this season marked a significant return of the excessive heel, in a spread of silhouettes (get these calves prepared!). Though some interpretations skewed minimal—at Prada, Saint Laurent, and Givenchy—we noticed loads of different kinds that had been made for maximalists. There was a spread of thoughtfully embellished kinds from Miu Miu, the place the traditional mule was adorned by beads, and at Burberry, which gave the usual sandal a fuzzy replace. Beneath, we’ve rounded up 5 of the most important shoe tendencies of the season—all of the kinds you’ll need to put on come fall.

We love a development that may make you look down at your ft and smile. The ladylike look was pushed to new extremes at Loewe and Prada—the place bows and different adornments had been so massive they appeared as if they may take flight—and saved easy and female at Miu Miu and Gucci.

In case your trend ethos is “go large or go residence,” worry not—we noticed loads of (fake) furry, fringy, and in any other case embellished footwear on the runway. Daniel Lee’s first Burberry assortment leaned into the development, making use of texture to boots, sandals, and moccasins.
